The country has been overtaken by a new political debate as to who will become the next Prime Minister in the event of potential disqualification of Nawaz Sharif.
Hearing Panama Implementation Case, a three-judge bench of Supreme Court of Pakistan reserved its ruling on Friday.
Among other options before the bench, the disqualification of PM Nawaz Sharif is the most probable under different articles of the Constitution of Pakistan, according to the analysts.
Earlier on Friday, PM Nawaz presided over a crucial meeting to hash out the potential outcomes of the Panama case ruling.
In the event of PM’s disqualification, different names including Chaudhry Nisar, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, and Khawaja Asif have been put on the table.
Circles of the government and opposition parties have different approaches in this regard. Everyone is in hot pursuit of this million-dollar question.
